Learning Options at GateWay

Put your computer to work while expanding your knowledge and earning college credit. With three flexible options -- Online, Hybrid, and Open Entry, GateWay has over 150 course titles available covering several fields of study including business, computers, environmental studies, health care, and industrial technology.

Hybrid Courses

Hybrid courses blend face-to-face with online instruction. A portion of your coursework, learning, and instruction is in person, and a portion is done independently online. Hybrid courses are designed for highly motivated, self-disciplined, technology-literate students. Communication outside the classroom will be through email, and reliable Web access is needed.

Online Courses

In online courses, all activities are done online; there are no classroom meetings. Online courses are designed for motivated, self-disciplined, technology-literate students. Communication outside the classroom will be through email, and reliable Web access is needed. Exams may be delivered online, or may require onsite attendance.

Open Entry Courses

There are different types of Open Entry courses. They can be hybrid or online, or a combination of both, with staggered start/stop dates. Another type of Open Entry course meets in class, or online with staggered start/stop dates. In another type of Open Entry courses, instruction, activities, and assignments may be completed independently or self-paced. Exams may be delivered online or may require onsite attendance. Open Entry courses are designed for motivated, self-disciplined, technology-literate students.
